Tican is a prominent Danish meat processing brand with roots dating back to 1928, originally established as a cooperative slaughterhouse in Thisted, Denmark. Over the decades, it evolved from a local supplier into a major international player in the pork industry. In March 2016, the company was acquired by the German Tönnies Group, one of Europe's largest meat producers, as part of their international expansion strategy. While ownership moved to Germany, Tican continues to operate as a significant subsidiary within the Danish market, maintaining production facilities in locations like Thisted and Brørup. The brand is well-known for traditional Danish cold cuts, including rullepølse (spiced meat roll), which are produced using long-standing Danish craft traditions combined with modern food safety standards.
