Originally established as Berg-Hanssens Elektriske Verksted in Porsgrunn, the company eventually adopted the name 'Beha' in 1923 by combining the first letters of its founder’s name.

Historically, Beha produced a variety of household appliances, but it has specialized heavily in panel heaters, convector heaters, and smart heating technology. While the brand’s engineering, design, and corporate headquarters remain firmly rooted in Fredrikstad, Norway, modern production has transitioned to specialized facilities in Lithuania to maintain competitiveness in the European market. The brand remains privately held, with investment backing from firms like Jotunfjell Partners as of recent years, continuing its legacy of producing environmentally friendly, dust-burn-free heaters for international markets.
