Cenovis is a well-established healthcare brand with a deep history in Australia, originally founded by pharmacist William James Rogers in 1938. While a separate Swiss brand named Cenovis exists for yeast-based food spreads, the vitamin and supplement line pictured is a distinct Australian entity.

Over the decades, the brand transitioned from its pharmacy roots to become a staple in supermarkets and major pharmacies across Australia. In 1998, its manufacturing operations moved to Adelaide, and it eventually expanded to become one of the country's leading immunity and supplement brands.

In 2008, the brand was acquired by the French pharmaceutical giant Sanofi. By 2024, Sanofi moved its consumer healthcare assets into a dedicated global entity called Opella. Currently, the ultimate ownership of the brand involves a strategic partnership where Sanofi retains a 50% stake alongside the US private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice (CD&R), which acquired a controlling interest in the Opella unit. Despite these global ownership shifts, the product continues to be manufactured primarily in Australia to serve the local market.
