Ingman is a historic Finnish brand with roots dating back to 1907. Originally a family-owned business established by the Ingman family in Sipoo, Finland, the brand grew to become a market leader in the Nordic and Baltic regions. While the dairy operations of Ingman were eventually merged into Arla Foods, the ice cream division was separated and subsequently acquired by the multinational consumer goods giant Unilever in 2011.
Today, Ingman operates as a key part of Unilever’s extensive global ice cream portfolio. Manufacturing is distributed across several locations to serve northern European markets, with major production facilities historically located in Finland (Söderkulla), Sweden (Åhus), Lithuania, and Belarus. Following its acquisition, the brand was integrated into Unilever’s "Heartbrand" family (the same global identity as Wall's, Algida, and Ben & Jerry's), allowing it to benefit from global research and supply chain efficiencies while maintaining its local heritage in Finland and Estonia.
As of 2026, the brand is transitioning under a major corporate restructuring. Unilever has initiated a demerger of its entire ice cream business into a separate entity, often referred to as The Magnum Ice Cream Company or simply the Ice Cream division. This standalone company, headquartered in the Netherlands, is now the ultimate owner of the Ingman brand, managing its operations independently from Unilever’s other consumer segments.
