Jalas is a prestigious Finnish heritage brand with a legacy dating back to 1916 in the village of Jokipii, Finland. Originally founded as a tannery by Juho Viljanmaa, the company evolved into a leading manufacturer of specialized footwear, ranging from early sports shoes and ski boots to its modern focus on high-performance safety and occupational footwear. The Jalas Neutralizer series of insoles, such as the medium-arch support model, is designed to enhance ergonomics and shock absorption in work shoes, often utilizing advanced materials like Poron XRD.

Today, the Jalas brand is owned by the Swedish company Ejendals AB, which acquired the original Finnish company, Urho Viljanmaa Oy, in 2008. While Ejendals is headquartered in Leksand, Sweden, the main production, research, and development for Jalas products remain centered in Finland. The Ejendals Group continues to be a family-owned entity, managed by the descendants of its founder, Valfrid Ejendal, maintaining a strong commitment to Scandinavian manufacturing quality and occupational safety.
