Digi (formerly RCS & RDS) Telecommunications

RCS & RDS, now officially operating under the brand name Digi, is the leading telecommunications provider in Romania and a major player in the Southeast European market. Founded in 1994 by Zoltán Teszári, the company initially focused on cable television services before expanding rapidly into internet, fixed-line telephony, and mobile services. The brand has become synonymous with high-speed fiber-optic connectivity and affordable multi-play service bundles.

Over the decades, the company evolved from a local Romanian operator into a multinational group with significant operations in Spain and Italy, and ongoing expansions into Portugal and Belgium. In 2017, the parent company was listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange as Digi Communications N.V. In May 2024, the primary Romanian operating entity, RCS & RDS S.A., officially rebranded to Digi Romania S.A. to unify its corporate identity with its well-known consumer brand.
