The K&K Sound Pure Mini is a renowned passive transducer system designed for steel-string acoustic guitars. It features three separate pickup heads that are installed on the guitar's bridge plate inside the body. This specific design allows the pickup to capture the mechanical vibrations of the bridge plate and the resonance of the soundboard, providing a warm and natural acoustic tone without the 'quack' often associated with undersaddle piezoelectric pickups.
Originally founded in 1984 in Würzburg, Germany, by Dieter Kaudel and his wife Karla, K&K Sound initially focused on amplification for percussion instruments like vibraphones and marimbas. In 1995, the company relocated its entire operation to Coos Bay, Oregon, USA, to be closer to the heart of the acoustic guitar market. Today, the brand remains an independent, family-owned entity that prides itself on handcrafted production. All manufacturing, assembly, and quality control are conducted in-house at their facility in Oregon to ensure high standards of performance and reliability.
