Bart is a renowned British brand that has been a staple in UK kitchens for over 60 years. Founded in 1963 by Jo and Reg Bartlam in Bristol, the brand began as a small family operation selling herbs and spices from their garage. Over the decades, it expanded from its local roots to become a major supplier for leading retailers like Waitrose, eventually establishing a purpose-built factory in Bedminster and later moving to a state-of-the-art facility in Severn Beach, Bristol.

In 2017, The Bart Ingredients Company was acquired by the Fuchs Gruppe (Fuchs Group), a global leader in the spice industry based in Germany. Despite this international ownership, the brand remains deeply connected to its British heritage, with manufacturing and processing operations continuing at its facilities in Bristol and Newbury. The brand is also noted for its innovation, such as the patented 'Spoonkler' lid, and its commitment to sustainability and Fairtrade sourcing.
