MG, originally standing for Morris Garages, is an iconic automotive brand with a heritage dating back to 1924 in Oxford, United Kingdom. While it was once the quintessential British sports car manufacturer, the brand has undergone significant transformations over the last century. Since 2007, MG has been under the ownership of SAIC Motor, a Chinese state-owned automotive giant. This transition marked a shift from traditional internal combustion sports cars to a modern, tech-focused lineup heavily centered on electric mobility.

Today, MG's electric vehicles (EVs) are designed and engineered with a blend of British design influence—maintained through a dedicated design center in Marylebone, London—and Chinese manufacturing prowess. The majority of production occurs in high-tech facilities across China, specifically in cities like Shanghai, Nanjing, and Ningde. To support its global expansion, MG also operates manufacturing and assembly plants in Thailand, India (through a joint venture with JSW Group), Indonesia, and Pakistan, with plans to expand assembly into Brazil by 2026. This global footprint allows MG to deliver competitive electric models like the MG4 EV, ZS EV, and the innovative Cyberster roadster to international markets.
