Sober Carpenter is a leading Canadian non-alcoholic craft brewery that was established in 2018 in Montreal, Quebec. Founded by brothers Mathieu and Nicolas Gagnon-Oosterwaal, the brand was born from a desire to enjoy high-quality craft beer flavors while maintaining a more moderate lifestyle. Their lineup includes various styles such as IPA, Blonde Ale, and Irish Red, all brewed to contain less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.
In early 2025, the brand reached a significant milestone when it was acquired by Les Brasseurs du Nord, the pioneering Quebec microbrewery famous for the Boréale brand. This acquisition by a veteran industry player, which is itself backed by the Fonds de solidarité FTQ, ensures that Sober Carpenter remains under Canadian ownership while gaining the resources to expand its distribution across North America. The products continue to be brewed in Canada, maintaining their commitment to quality and local production.
