Läkerol Cactus Pastilles

Läkerol is a well-known Swedish brand of throat lozenges or pastilles, originally founded in 1909 by Adolf Ahlgren in Gävle, Sweden. The brand's signature 'A' logo is a tribute to its founder. Läkerol was created as a healthy alternative to candy, marketed for its soothing properties for the throat and breath freshing qualities.

Over the decades, Läkerol expanded its reach across Scandinavia and internationally. In 1999, the Swedish company Huhtamäki (which then owned Leaf) merged with other entities, eventually leading the brand into the portfolio of Leaf International. In 2012, Leaf merged with the Swedish confectionery giant Cloetta. Today, while the brand remains deeply Swedish in identity and heritage, the manufacturing of these pastilles is primarily centralized at Cloetta's modern production facility in Levice, Slovakia, which serves the entire European market.
