Tempo is a world-renowned brand of paper tissues, originally established in Germany in 1929 by Oscar Rosenfelder at the Vereinigte Papierwerke AG. For decades, it has been synonymous with high-quality, four-ply disposable tissues that are durable enough to survive a machine wash.

The brand has undergone several ownership changes over the years. It was acquired by the consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble in 1994, which significantly expanded its international footprint. However, in 2007, the brand was sold to the Swedish hygiene and health company SCA (Svenska Cellulosa Aktiebolaget). In 2017, SCA spun off its hygiene operations into a new company named Essity, which currently owns and manages the Tempo brand globally. While originally a German icon, the products are now manufactured in various European locations, including Germany and Italy, to serve regional markets.
