The brand was originally developed in 2007 on Kungsholmen in Stockholm through a collaboration between local experts and the Swedish dental community to create a mouthwash that is effective against cavities while maintaining a pleasant taste.

Starting around 2023-2024, the production of Flux fluoride rinse was moved from Denmark to Sweden. It is now manufactured in the Dalarna region of Sweden. This move was part of a sustainability initiative to reduce carbon emissions and utilize local suppliers for packaging components like bottles and caps. Today, the brand is owned by Karo Healthcare, a Swedish-based consumer healthcare company that manages a portfolio of trusted healthcare brands across Europe.
