Guaraná Antarctica is Brazil's most iconic and popular soft drink, originally created in 1921 by Pedro Baptista de Andrade for the Companhia Antarctica Paulista. The beverage is flavored with extract from the guaraná fruit, which is native to the Amazon rainforest and naturally contains caffeine, providing a unique fruity and energetic profile. Historically, it was the first brand to successfully mass-market a carbonated guaraná-based drink.

Today, the brand is owned by Ambev (Companhia de Bebidas das Américas), which was formed through the merger of Antarctica and Brahma. Ambev itself is a principal subsidiary of Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), the world's largest brewing company. While it remains a staple of Brazilian culture and is the official sponsor of the Brazilian national football team, it is produced in several locations globally including Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Bolivia, and Japan. In the European market, it is often distributed and produced under license to serve countries like Denmark, where it is a popular specialty import.
