The brand was founded in 1996 by Alberto Bertone and his family, who established the company Fonti di Vinadio S.p.A. Based in Vinadio, Italy, the company operates one of the most technologically advanced and environmentally sustainable bottling plants in the world. The facility is a model of bio-architecture, utilizing natural materials like stone and wood to blend with the Alpine landscape.

Acqua Sant'Anna remains 100% Italian-owned and independent, led by the Bertone family. In recent years, the company has expanded its portfolio to include iced teas and fruit-based beverages and has begun international expansion, including the acquisition of French beverage companies to establish a broader European presence. Despite its growth, the core production remains concentrated at the source in the Stura Valley, ensuring the freshness and characteristic lightness of the water.
