Brinta, short for 'Breakfast Instant Tarwe', is an iconic Dutch breakfast brand originally launched in 1944. It was created by Frederik Julius Spier in Groningen during World War II. Known primarily for its whole wheat porridge, the brand also offers oatmeal variants like the one shown in the image.
Historically, the brand was a product of the company Scholten-Honig, but it has changed hands several times through corporate acquisitions. Today, Brinta is owned by the American multinational company Wells Enterprises following its acquisition from the Halo Top founders, though it was part of the Kraft Heinz portfolio for a long time. In the Netherlands, it remains a staple of the local breakfast market, maintaining its historical connection to Dutch cereal production centers.
