Dallmayr Coffee

Dallmayr is one of Germany's most prestigious and historic brands, with roots dating back to 1700 when the Munich merchant Christian Reitter founded a trading business. The brand is famously named after Alois Dallmayr, who took over the enterprise in 1870. Under the subsequent leadership of the Randlkofer family, it transformed into a premier European delicatessen and a purveyor to the royal court.

While its origins are in luxury food, the coffee era began in 1933 when Konrad Werner Wille established a specialized coffee department. Today, the brand remains a family-owned business, headquartered in Munich, Germany. The coffee itself is roasted primarily at five major facilities across Germany (Munich, Berlin, Braunschweig, Bremen, and Dortmund), while sourcing high-quality Arabica beans from regions such as Ethiopia, Brazil, and Colombia. Despite its global reach through vending and retail, the ultimate ownership has remained independent of larger international conglomerates like Nestlé (which previously held a minority stake).
