Pritt Stick glue

The Pritt Stick is a widely recognized solid adhesive, famously modeled after a lipstick tube for clean and precise application. It was first conceived in 1967 by Dr. Wolfgang Dierichs, a researcher at the German company Henkel, who was inspired while watching a woman apply lipstick on an airplane. The product officially hit the market in 1969, marking the invention of the world's first glue stick.

Over the decades, the brand has focused heavily on safety and sustainability, particularly as it is a staple in schools and for children's crafts. In 1991, Henkel began replacing mineral oil-based ingredients with renewable materials; today, the glue mass consists of approximately 97% natural ingredients, including potato starch and sugar. The brand also uses recycled plastics for its stick casings to minimize environmental impact.

Pritt remains a core brand of the Henkel Group, a German multinational chemical and consumer goods corporation. While originally from Germany, Pritt products are manufactured in multiple locations worldwide to serve over 120 countries, where they are sold as a leading name in home, school, and office adhesives.
