S.Pellegrino sparkling mineral water

S.Pellegrino is a world-renowned brand of natural mineral water with a heritage dating back to the 13th century. The water is sourced from a single spring in San Pellegrino Terme, located in the Val Brembana valley at the foothills of the Italian Alps in Lombardy, Italy. It is famously said that Leonardo da Vinci visited the springs in 1509 to study the properties of the water.

The commercial entity, Società Anonima delle Terme di S. Pellegrino, was officially founded in 1899 to bottle and export the water. In 1997, the company was acquired by the Swiss conglomerate Nestlé, specifically joining the Nestlé Waters division. Despite its global ownership, the bottling and production remain anchored in its historical home in Italy, where the water undergoes a 30-year natural filtration process through alpine rocks before being bottled with the addition of carbon dioxide for its signature carbonation.
