Hasseröder Premium Pils

Hasseröder Premium Pils is a traditional German pilsner with a heritage dating back to 1872. It was originally established by Robert Hoppe in the Hasserode district of Wernigerode, Germany, under the name 'Zum Auerhahn' (The Capercaillie), which explains the distinctive bird logo still used today. Following German reunification in 1990, the brand rapidly expanded to become one of the most consumed beers in Eastern Germany and remains a top-selling brand nationwide.

Throughout its modern history, the brewery has seen various ownership changes. It was initially acquired by the Gilde Brewery of Hanover, which modernized the production facilities. In 2002, the parent company was acquired by Interbrew, which through subsequent mergers with AmBev (forming InBev) and eventually Anheuser-Busch, became the global giant Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev).

Today, Hasseröder is brewed at a state-of-the-art facility in Wernigerode, Saxony-Anhalt. While AB InBev briefly explored selling the brand in late 2017 and early 2018, the transaction was canceled in 2019, and the brand remains a core part of their German portfolio as of 2026.
