Wrigley's Orbit chewing gum

Orbit is one of the world's most recognized sugar-free chewing gum brands, originally created by the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company. Its history is quite unique, having first been launched in the United States in 1944 during World War II as a temporary substitute because high-quality ingredients were reserved for troops. After a long hiatus, it was reintroduced in Europe in 1976 and eventually returned to the U.S. market in 2001.

Today, the brand is owned by Mars, Incorporated, following its landmark acquisition of Wrigley in 2008. For the Spanish market, the product has a deep local connection; it was introduced in Spain in 1985 and is largely manufactured at the Cafosa plant (a Mars Wrigley subsidiary) located near Barcelona, which specializes in gum base and finished products. Globally, Orbit is sold under various names like 'Extra' in the UK and Australia, but it remains a cornerstone of Mars Wrigley's snacking division, focusing on oral health benefits and breath freshness.
