Valentina hot sauce

Valentina is one of the most iconic hot sauces in Mexico and is widely recognized for its thick consistency and citrusy heat. Founded by Manuel Maciel Méndez in Tamazula de Gordiano, Jalisco, the brand was named after Valentina Ramírez Avitia, a female soldier known for her bravery during the Mexican Revolution. The sauce is produced using puya and serrano peppers, giving it a distinctive flavor profile that differs from the vinegar-heavy styles found in other regions.

Today, the brand remains under the management of the founding group, Salsa Tamazula. It has expanded from a local favorite in Guadalajara to an international brand available in the United States, Spain, and beyond. The manufacturing continues to be centered in Mexico, maintaining its traditional recipe and cultural heritage as a staple of Mexican street food and snack culture.
