Volvic is a French brand of natural mineral water sourced from the Chaîne des Puys-Limagne Fault in the Auvergne Volcanoes Natural Regional Park, at the Puy de Dôme in central France. The water undergoes a natural filtration process through six layers of volcanic rock over approximately five years, imparting a unique mineral composition and crisp taste. The first of the springs in the area was tapped in 1922, and the first bottles appeared on the market in 1938. In October 1993, the Volvic company was acquired by Groupe Danone, a French multinational food-products corporation. Since then, Volvic has been part of Danone's portfolio. The brand is known for its commitment to sustainability, including achieving carbon neutrality in 2020 and using 100% recycled PET (rPET) bottles in the U.S. market as of April 2021. Volvic's products are primarily manufactured in France, with distribution in over 60 countries worldwide.
