Lotto is a prominent Italian sportswear brand that rose to global fame through its deep-rooted association with tennis and football. Founded in the early 1970s in the Treviso district of Italy, the brand became synonymous with high-performance athletic gear, famously worn by legends such as Boris Becker and Ruud Gullit. Its iconic 'double diamond' logo represents two overlapping fields—a basketball court and a football pitch—reflecting its commitment to team sports.
Over the decades, Lotto transitioned from a family-run Italian manufacturer to a global licensing powerhouse. While the brand maintains its creative and design soul in Italy, the actual manufacturing of its products is carried out through a vast network of third-party producers across Asia and Europe. This model allows the brand to maintain competitiveness in the global market while focusing on technical innovation and heritage styling.
Technically, the brand's global rights are now managed through a strategic partnership. In 2021, the US-based brand management firm Authentic Brands Group (ABG) acquired the Lotto brand. Under this arrangement, original company Lotto Sport Italia continues to operate as a core partner, handling product development and distribution in key markets, while ABG oversees the brand’s global expansion and intellectual property rights from its headquarters in New York.
