Saimaza is a historic Spanish coffee brand with roots dating back to 1908 when it was founded by Joaquin Sainz de la Maza in Seville. Originally a family-owned business, it grew to become one of the leading coffee importers in Spain. Over the decades, it established itself as a staple in Spanish households, known for its traditional 'torrefacto' and natural blends.

In 1983, the company entered a joint venture with General Foods, which eventually led to its integration into larger multinational structures. After various mergers, including the formation of Mondelēz International and the subsequent coffee business spin-off, Saimaza became part of the Jacobs Douwe EGBERTS (JDE) Peet's portfolio. While its original Seville factory was sold to Catunambú in 2014, the brand continues to be a key player in the Spanish market under the ownership of JDE Peet's, which oversees its production and distribution across Europe.
