Kockens Svart Peppar

Kockens is a classic Swedish spice brand with a heritage dating back to 1916. While the raw spices, such as black pepper, are typically sourced internationally from major producing regions like Vietnam or India, the processing, blending, and packaging take place in Sweden.

The brand has undergone several ownership changes throughout its century-long history, previously being owned by General Foods and Unilever. Since 2008, it has returned to Swedish ownership under Kockens AB, a subsidiary of Culinar. Culinar is itself part of the Sveriges Stärkelseproducenter (Lyckebygruppen) cooperative, which is owned by approximately 800-1,000 potato farmers in southern Sweden.
