Microsoft Edge web browser

Microsoft Edge is a cross-platform web browser developed by Microsoft. It was first released for Windows 10 and Xbox One in 2015, and later for other platforms including macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux. Edge was originally built with Microsoft's own proprietary engines, but in 2020, it was rebuilt as a Chromium-based browser, aligning it with the same engine used by Google Chrome.

The software is primarily developed and maintained in the United States, though Microsoft utilizes a global workforce of software engineers. As a digital product, it is distributed globally via the internet. Microsoft Edge is the successor to Internet Explorer and has become the default browser for the Windows operating system, integrating deeply with Microsoft 365 services and AI features like Microsoft Copilot.
