Gauloises is a historic French cigarette brand created in 1910. Originally known for its strong, dark tobacco and filterless variants associated with French national identity, the brand expanded into the 'Blondes' line using lighter American-style tobacco blends. For many decades, it was produced by the state-owned French company SEITA.

Following a series of mergers, Gauloises became part of Altadis in 1999. In 2008, the British multinational Imperial Brands (formerly Imperial Tobacco) acquired Altadis. Today, the manufacture of Gauloises has largely shifted away from France to other European facilities, particularly in Germany and Poland, as part of corporate consolidation. It remains a leading international cigarette brand owned and managed by Imperial Brands.
