Ford Focus

The Ford Focus is a globally recognized compact car that was first introduced in 1998 as a replacement for the Ford Escort. Originally designed by Ford of Europe, it became a cornerstone of Ford's international fleet, known for its agile handling and diverse body styles including hatchbacks, sedans, and wagons. Over the decades, it has undergone several generational shifts, becoming one of the best-selling nameplates in automotive history.

Manufacturing of the Ford Focus is truly global. Historically, major assembly plants have been located in Saarlouis (Germany), Wayne (Michigan, USA), Chongqing (China), and Vsevolozhsk (Russia). By the mid-2020s, Ford shifted its focus toward electric vehicles and SUVs in North America, leading to the discontinuation of the Focus in that market. However, production has continued in Europe and Asia to meet local demand. The vehicle remains a product of the Ford Motor Company, which oversees its global engineering and design from its headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan.
