Trocadero is a quintessentially Swedish soft drink, uniquely flavored with a blend of apple and orange. Introduced in 1953 by Saturnus AB in Malmö, it was launched the same year that the ban on cola drinks was lifted in Sweden. For decades, it held a unique market position as one of the few non-cola sodas to contain caffeine, earning it a devoted following, particularly in northern Sweden where it is often affectionately called the 'national drink of Norrland'.
Throughout its history, the brand transitioned from being produced by its creator to a licensed model where various local breweries manufactured the drink using Saturnus's essences. In 2017, the brand reached a new chapter when it was acquired by Spendrups Bryggeri AB, one of Sweden's largest family-owned beverage companies. Today, Spendrups oversees the production and distribution, maintaining its status as a beloved Swedish cultural icon.
