Eggo waffles

Originally invented in San Jose, California, in 1953 by Tony Dorsa and his brothers, the product was first marketed under the name "Froffles"—a portmanteau of frozen and waffles. Consumers began referring to them as Eggos due to their distinct eggy flavor, leading the brand to officially adopt the name in 1955.

Today, Eggo is a leading brand in the frozen food sector, particularly famous for its long-standing 'L'eggo My Eggo' marketing campaign. The brand is now a flagship label within the Kellogg Company's portfolio (now split as Kellanova). Manufacturing primarily takes place in various industrial bakeries across the United States and Canada to supply the North American market.

As of the mid-2020s, the brand is owned by Kellanova following the corporate spin-off of the Kellogg Company’s cereal business. Kellanova remains headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, maintaining its position as a global snack and frozen food powerhouse.
