Ahlgrens Bilar, famously marketed as "Sweden's most bought car," is an iconic Swedish confectionery brand with a history dating back to 1953. The brand originated from a failed attempt by the Ahlgren technical factory in Gävle to produce American-style marshmallows. Instead, they created a unique, chewy foam candy shaped like small cars, inspired by the Bugatti sports car.
Today, the brand is owned and manufactured by Cloetta, a prominent Northern European confectionery company. While the original factory in Gävle was closed in 2014, production was moved to Cloetta's modern facility in Ljungsbro, Sweden. The product is a staple of Swedish culture, recognizable by its classic pink, green, and white foam cars and its environmentally friendly 'plant pack' packaging introduced to reduce plastic waste.
