The Instant Vortex Air Fryer is a popular kitchen appliance developed by the makers of the famous Instant Pot. The brand 'Instant' (formerly under Instant Brands) traces its origins to Canada, where Robert Wang and his colleagues founded Double Insight Inc. in 2009. Their goal was to transform home cooking through smart technology and multi-functional appliances.
Like many modern consumer electronics and small appliances, the Instant Vortex is primarily manufactured in China to leverage specialized manufacturing hubs and global supply chains.
In terms of ownership, the brand has undergone significant changes in recent years. After a high-profile merger with Corelle Brands in 2019, the parent company, Instant Brands, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June 2023. Following this, the company's housewares and appliance businesses were acquired. As of 2024 and moving forward into 2026, the appliance division (including the Instant and Vortex brands) is operated under the umbrella of Instant Brands (now often referred to as Instant Brands UK or specifically managed by private equity firms like Centre Lane Partners) to ensure the continuity of the brand and its service networks.
