Freia Melkehjerter are heart-shaped milk chocolate treats produced by Freia, a Norwegian brand established in 1889. The brand is known for its high-quality chocolate products and has been a staple in Norwegian confectionery for over a century. In 1992, Freia merged with Marabou, a Swedish chocolate manufacturer, forming Freia Marabou AS. In 2012, Mondelez International, a global leader in snacks and beverages, acquired Freia Marabou AS, making Freia a subsidiary of Mondelez Norway AS. The Melkehjerter chocolates are manufactured in Lithuania, reflecting Mondelez International's global production strategy. Despite the manufacturing location, Freia maintains its Norwegian heritage and continues to be a beloved brand in Norway and beyond.
