Eve Systems, a German company, has launched its first-ever smart thermostat, the Eve Thermostat, at CES 2026. This new product emphasizes simplicity, privacy, and user-friendly design. It is compatible with the Matter smart home standard and operates entirely without cloud-based services, subscriptions, or data tracking. Priced at $129.95, it will be available through Eve’s website, Apple, and Amazon, although UK pricing and availability are still pending. The device features a large, clear display, touch controls, and customizable settings via the Eve app on iOS devices. It supports local automations and remote access with a compatible smart home hub, with presence-based automations and an Eco indicator to promote energy efficiency. For older HVAC systems, an optional C-wire adapter is available. With its minimalist aesthetic and software-updatable design, the Eve Thermostat aims to offer a lasting and privacy-focused solution that improves over time alongside Matter’s continued development.
