Smarteyes optical retail chain

Smarteyes is a Swedish optical retail chain founded in 2007, specializing in affordable and stylish eyewear. By the end of 2020, it operated 87 stores across Sweden, Denmark, and Germany, with a net revenue of SEK 622 million and over 500 employees. In December 2021, GrandVision N.V. and Synoptik Foundation agreed to acquire Smarteyes through their subsidiary, Synoptik A/S. The acquisition was completed in July 2022, and Smarteyes became part of EssilorLuxottica, a global leader in eyewear design and manufacturing. Synoptik A/S, a subsidiary of EssilorLuxottica, now manages Smarteyes, continuing its mission to provide affordable and fashionable eyewear to a broad audience.
