Vox is a British musical equipment manufacturer founded in 1957 by Thomas Walter Jennings in Dartford, Kent, England. The company is renowned for producing the Vox AC30 guitar amplifier, which became iconic in the 1960s and was used by legendary bands such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Queen. In 1992, Vox was acquired by the Japanese electronics firm Korg Inc., leading to the revitalization of the brand and the introduction of new models. Manufacturing of Vox amplifiers has primarily been moved to China, though some models are produced in other locations. The Vox AC30 remains a staple in the music industry, known for its distinctive 'jangly' high-end sound and its role in shaping the British Invasion era of rock and roll.
