Scandinavian Tobacco Group A/S is a leading manufacturer of cigars and traditional pipe tobacco, with an annual production of over four billion cigars. The company holds market-leading positions in several categories and its products are sold in more than 100 markets worldwide. Headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, Scandinavian Tobacco Group A/S employs approximately 10,000 people across Europe, the US, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Nicaragua, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. The company offers a diverse portfolio of brands, including Café Crème, La Paz, Henri Wintermans, Macanudo, CAO, Partagas (US), and Cohiba (US) in the cigar segment, and Captain Black, Erinmore, Borkum Riff, and W.Ø. Larsen in the pipe tobacco segment. In 2024, Scandinavian Tobacco Group A/S completed the acquisition of Mac Baren Tobacco Company A/S, a family-owned business founded in 1826, further strengthening its position in the global tobacco industry. The company is ultimately owned by two Danish foundations, Skandinavisk Holding A/S and Det Obelske Familiefond, which together hold a 51% stake, and by Swedish Match AB, which holds the remaining 49%. Both Danish foundations have been active in the tobacco industry for more than 250 years.
