Tuborg Rød is a dark lager beer produced by the Tuborg Brewery in Denmark. Originating in 1875, it was initially known as 'Lager beer' and drew inspiration from Bavarian brewing traditions, leading to its German-sounding name 'Tuborger'. Over time, it became popularly known as 'Rød' ('Red') due to its distinctive red-brown color. The beer is brewed using four types of malt: Munich malt, Pilsner malt, and a touch of caramel and colored malt, resulting in a rich flavor profile. In 2002, production ceased, but due to its cultural significance, it was relaunched in 2007 and has since been available seasonally. The Tuborg Brewery, established in Denmark, is now part of the Carlsberg Group, a leading global brewing company headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark.
