Braastad VSOP Cognac is a distinguished spirit produced by Tiffon SA, a French company established in 1875. The Braastad brand, however, has Norwegian roots, as it was named after Sverre Braastad, a Norwegian who joined the company and married into the Tiffon family. The cognac is crafted in the Fins Bois region of France, known for its high-quality eaux-de-vie. Braastad VSOP has been recognized for its excellence, receiving the Gold Medal for 'Best VSOP Cognac' at the International Wine and Spirit Competition in London in 2003, 2005, and 2007. The cognac is characterized by its opulent and harmonious flavor, with tasting notes of green pepper, dates, and a mellow aftertaste of chocolate, complemented by a well-integrated oak character. The Braastad brand continues to be owned by Tiffon SA, maintaining its French heritage and commitment to producing premium cognacs.
