Tørsleffs Atamon is a iconic Danish food preservative widely used for home canning and jam making. The brand Tørsleffs was founded in Denmark in the 1920s and became a household staple through its famous 'Green Book' and 'Blue Book' recipe guides. Atamon specifically was developed to prevent mold and fermentation in preserves.
Today, the Tørsleffs brand is owned by the Haugen-Gruppen, part of the Norwegian-based Orkla group. While the brand carries deep Danish heritage and is largely produced in Denmark for the Scandinavian market, the ultimate ownership lies with Orkla ASA, a leading consumer goods giant in the Nordics headquartered in Oslo, Norway.
