Grand Frais is a French supermarket chain specializing in fresh food retail, offering a wide range of quality products such as fruits, vegetables, seafood, meat, dairy, and grocery items. Founded in 1992 by Denis Dumont in Givors, France, the company has grown to operate over 300 stores across the country. The retail concept is inspired by traditional food markets, providing an extensive selection of fresh products under one roof. In 2016, Prosol Group, the parent company of Grand Frais, underwent a capital reorganization, with Abenex Capital increasing its majority stake. In November 2020, PAI Partners, a leading European private equity firm, acquired a 60% stake in Euro Ethnic Foods, the company managing the grocery section of Grand Frais stores. The remaining 40% is owned by the founders, Léo and Patrick Bahadourian. Euro Ethnic Foods operates primarily the grocery section of Grand Frais stores in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. The Grand Frais network includes various partners managing specific product categories, such as Prosol for fruits and vegetables, seafood, and dairy, Despi for butchery, and Euro Ethnic Foods for grocery items. This collaborative approach has contributed to the brand's success and expansion in the French retail market.
