Ramlösa is one of Sweden's most iconic and historic beverage brands, with a legacy spanning over three centuries. The brand's history began in 1707 when physician Johan Jacob Döbelius founded a health spa at the Ramlösa mineral spring in Helsingborg. For hundreds of years, the site served as a destination for those seeking the healing properties of its chalybeate and alkaline waters. It eventually received the prestigious status of Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden.
Today, the brand is a leading name in the Swedish market and a significant export product. The water is sourced from deep underground springs in the Ramlösa Brunnspark, where it is naturally filtered through layers of sandstone and clay for up to 70 years. This natural process imbues the water with its unique mineral balance before it is bottled at the source in Helsingborg to maintain its purity and designation as natural mineral water.
While the brand maintains its deep Swedish roots and local production, its ownership has shifted to international hands over the decades. Since 2001, Ramlösa has been owned by the Danish beverage giant Carlsberg Group. Under Carlsberg's ownership, the brand has expanded its portfolio to include various flavored sparkling waters and has leveraged a global distribution network to reach markets in North America, the Middle East, and Asia.
