In October 2020, Sound United LLC, a holding company that owns several audio brands, acquired Bowers & Wilkins. In September 2022, Sound United was acquired by Masimo, a U.S.-based medical technology company. In May 2025, Masimo announced the sale of its consumer audio division, including Bowers & Wilkins, to Harman International Industries, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics. This acquisition aims to strengthen Samsung's position in the premium audio market by integrating renowned brands like Bowers & Wilkins, Denon, Marantz, Polk, and Definitive Technology. The manufacturing of Bowers & Wilkins products takes place in multiple countries, reflecting the company's global operations and supply chain.
