Aqua d'Or is one of Scandinavia's leading brands of natural mineral water, originating from a deep underground spring in Fasterholt, Jutland, Denmark. The water is naturally filtered through layers of sand and gravel in a process that takes centuries, ensuring a high level of purity. The brand was originally established in the late 1980s and has since grown into a household name in Denmark and Sweden, known for its focus on sustainability and its pioneering use of 100% recycled PET bottles.
Historically, the brand was acquired by the French food and beverage giant Danone in 2015. While there were high-profile negotiations for the Danish brewery Royal Unibrew to acquire the brand in 2021-2022, the deal was ultimately scrapped. As of 2026, the brand remains under the ultimate ownership of Danone. Production continues to be centered at their modern facility in Brande, Denmark, where the water is bottled directly at the source to preserve its natural properties.
