While the brand shares its name with the village of Branston, Lincolnshire—where it was first produced—its corporate journey has seen several cross-border acquisitions. Originally founded by Crosse & Blackwell, it spent decades under the ownership of Nestlé (Switzerland) and later Premier Foods (UK). In 2013, the brand was acquired by Mizkan, a prominent Japanese food manufacturer specializing in vinegar and condiments, ensuring its continued global distribution and production within the United Kingdom.
