Gaastra is a Dutch brand founded in 1897 by sailmaker Douwe Gaastra in Sneek, Netherlands. Initially specializing in sail production, the company expanded into sportswear, offering clothing inspired by nautical themes. Over the years, Gaastra has been known for its high-quality materials and designs that reflect its maritime heritage. In 2015, Brands-360 obtained the official license for Gaastra Footwear, forging a special relationship between the two Dutch companies. In 2024, Gaastra ceased operations for the second time in three years following the insolvency of its parent company, Unlimited Footwear Group. The brand's legacy continues to influence the nautical sportswear market, with its products still available through various retailers and online platforms.
