Indesit Home Appliances

Indesit is one of Europe's most recognizable home appliance brands. Founded in Italy by Aristide Merloni, it became synonymous with efficient and reliable domestic products across the continent. For decades, it operated under Merloni Elettrodomestici, later renaming itself Indesit Company in 2005 to align with its top-selling brand brand.

In a major shift for the European appliance market, Indesit was acquired by the American giant Whirlpool Corporation in 2014. However, as of 2024, the brand's ownership structure changed again. Whirlpool integrated its European Middle East and Africa (EMEA) business into a new joint venture called Beko Europe. This entity is majority-owned (75%) by the Turkish company Arçelik, effectively moving the ultimate operational control of Indesit to Arçelik. Manufacturing remains distributed across various European and Asian hubs, though it stays rooted in its Italian heritage through design and market presence.
