The company was founded when one of the founders returned to Kristiansand from the US with a plastic bag filled with potato chips. Today, Sørlandschips holds the number two market position and is the most preferred chips brand in Norway. The brand is known for its extra crispy and flavorful chips, made from Norwegian potatoes and fried in small batches. In 2014, Sørlandschips was acquired by Scandza AS, a Norwegian company specializing in the production and distribution of food and beverage products. Scandza AS owns several brands in the Norwegian market, including Sørlandschips. The manufacturing facility is located in Kristiansand, Norway, where the chips are produced. The brand offers a variety of flavors, including Sea Salt, Truffle & Sea Salt, and Sour Cream & Onion, catering to diverse consumer preferences.
