Galle & Jessen mælkepålægschokolade

Galle & Jessen is an iconic Danish brand famous for its 'pålægschokolade'—thin slices of chocolate traditionally placed on rye bread. Founded in 1872 by Edvard Galle and Hans Jessen in Copenhagen, the company became a Purveyor to the Royal Danish Court as early as 1884.

While originally an independent confectioner, the brand was acquired by the Danish confectionery giant Toms International (Toms Gruppen A/S) in 1971. Today, the product remains a staple of Danish breakfast culture. Most of the production takes place at Toms' facilities in Denmark, maintaining the brand's heritage as an essential part of the Danish pantry under the ownership of one of the largest Nordic confectionery groups.
